Frequently Asked Questions

What is Virtual/Telehealth Therapy?

“Telehealth” is a term for receiving health care via electronic means. Rising Hope Therapy is an all telehealth practice, meaning you or your child can receive quality mental health care from the comfort of your home. Since COVID, more and more clinicians are turning to HIPAA compliant technologies. Rising Hope Therapy utilizes Simple Practice as it’s EHR and video conferencing system for seamless care.

Do you offer in person appointments as well?

We are all virtual at this time. However as we expand, we will move toward office space in Carrollton, GA. We will update accordingly.

How do I make a referral/ set up an appointment?

It’s easy! No referral form needed. You can reach Brittany via email and/or phone, however email is the preferred mode of contact. My secure email is Brittany@risinghopetherapyllc.com. From there we will set up a time for your free 15 minute consultation to determine if we would be a good fit to work together! My phone is 770.712.3319. Feel free to call and if I do not answer, you may leave a voicemail. I will do my best to call you back within a couple of business days.

I will need a photo copy (can attach to email and send) of your ID/Driver’s License, as well as front and back of your insurance card should you elect to use your insurance. Please know that I am currently in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia plans, Anthem, Optum, and United Healthcare.

Should we decide to move forward, we will schedule the assessment and all forms will be completed electronically via Simple Practice electronic health record site.

How much do sessions cost?

It depends on whether you decide to use your insurance. I am in network with Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Anthem, United Healthcare and Optum. I do offer sliding scale as needed for those experiencing financial burden and paying out of pocket for services. We can discuss your individual financial situation during the first contact consultation call.

Typically, insurance will cover the majority of session but you may have a co-pay or have to meet your deductible first. Your co-pay is usually the same amount you’d pay at the doctor’s office to be seen. We will verify benefits prior to the first session. I strongly recommend that each client verify their benefits on their own as well, to ensure we are all receiving the same information about your plan.

My initial diagnostic assessment and treatment planning rate is a flat $175. After the assessment, my rates are between $100-$145 for each 55 minute session. I give my clients the freedom to choose what they are comfortable paying within that range for each session thereafter.

How will my child engage in telehealth sessions? Is it all talking back and forth?

It is most definitely NOT all talking back and forth! I utilize creative means to engage your child. Through use of virtual play therapy rooms, games, whiteboards, screen-sharing, books, videos, and more! I have found that even the youngest kiddos and the oldest teens are able to effectively collaborate in treatment when it’s not all talk-based. I will find out what interests your child (or you, if seeking treatment for yourself!) and incorporate that into treatment.

What other questions do you have? Send me an email. I’d be happy to discuss your individual needs with you!
